Yankees 4.5 games back in the AL East. When do we worry? |

So, it is VERY early, but we don't want the Yanks to fall in a huge hole like last year. When do we start to worry?

I'm more worried about our lackadaisical offense than the exact number of games we're back this early in the season. Also, only Oakland has separated
themselves from the pack in the WC chase. They are due for a correction because they are not that good.

Now the question is, will they better the 21-29 pace from last yeaR?

I'm thinking they're at least gonna split the next 6, putting them at 23-27. So yes. If they win 4 of 6, which the Yankees CAN, they'll be 24-26.

Do you think this team has it in them to be a contender this year?

100%, I also think there's going to be a pretty big restructuring of the bench, bullpen by all star break...

If Joba pans out and Rasner keeps up his good outtings, we have a decent 1-5 rotation. I still think Wang is a MENTAL MIDGET who does not have it in him to be mentally tough after the first instance of adversity. Very weak minded. Lights out the first four starts this year, has one bad outting that I don't think he has recovered from yet. |

I wouldn't call Wang a mental midget, I would just say he is a very good front end of the rotation starter, but not an ace. By definition, that means he
won't win 25 games. This is the real Chien Ming Wang folks. He will go on another roll and will get his 18-20 wins. However, he will never be the dominant
pitcher that Halladay or Webb are.

i think it was obvious why wang has struggled of late. We saw his first month or so of outings that he used a four seamer, changeup, splitter and slider much
more effectively. Last night he wasnt using anything other than a sinker until the middle of the game and then he started to get outs.
I think its a main reason why this organization wants to see what joba is. Wang is a very good starter and can be a number 1 on prbly half of the teams in MLB but its a different mindset in NY. I dont think hes mentally weak because the guy has a whole country on his shoulders, thats alot of weight lol. I just dont think he was developed enough when in the minors because we didnt start turning it around organizationally until after He was in the majors. Theres no question they would of had him have that changeup and slider much more efficient if he was in the minors under the new regime. But thats wishful thinking and in the past, he'll win plenty of games and hopefully can go back to his 05,06 performances in the playoffs because they were pretty good. Remember key with him for the next step is his development of secondary pitches, especially the changeup |

Well Patterson is now up, and Robertson/ Cox may not be far behind... Veras will be gone soon, as will Britton, who is the yankees whipping boy... Why not
trade him, if he will never get a real shot.
I think Patterson could be a real reliable 7th/8th inning guy and I hope they give him a decent shot to establish that. |

Britton pitched well today... but Patterson's motion is absolutely awful.. It's all upper body, and zero legs.
